Andre Jackson (00:04): Hello. My name is Andre Jackson. I'm here to, um, to ask questions about oral history. Today is, um, 11/16/23 and, um, I'll be the interviewer right now interviewing the interviewee. Um-

Timothy Willis (00:19): My name is Timothy Willis. Uh, today's date is 11/16/23 and I will be interviewed by Mr. Andre.

Andre Jackson (00:28): Okay. Uh, my first question will be why did you enroll in this program, in this, in this art program? Did you, did you, um, reason, did your reason change?

Timothy Willis (00:41): No. I enrolled because it was something positive.

Andre Jackson (00:46): All right. How would you, how would you describe yourself as an artist?

Timothy Willis (00:50): I can draw, but I'm a good listener.

Andre Jackson (00:54): Tell me about time in this, tell me about the time in this class.

Timothy Willis (00:58): It was very informative. I've met some younger brothers who are very positive ab- in this environment.

Andre Jackson (01:08): How did, how did it begin in this class ma- how in the beginning in this class make you feel?

Timothy Willis (01:15): Welcome, because the brothers came here with, with positive attitude.

Andre Jackson (01:19): Tell me about your fav- your favorite memory from this class.

Timothy Willis (01:23): All the brothers showing up daily.

Andre Jackson (01:28): What if anything did you learn from, from the course that you just completed?

Timothy Willis (01:33): That I can learn from younger folks and older folks as well.

Andre Jackson (01:38): What was something you hoped to learn? What surprised you?

Timothy Willis (01:44): Just listening to folks to get a better understanding of the youth being I'm older.

Andre Jackson (01:50): How did you experience in this class, how did y- how did you experience in this class compared to what you expected?

Timothy Willis (01:59): I didn't know what to expect coming in. So, it's just another positive step in my journey of life.

Andre Jackson (02:07): What does this space offer you that differs from other spaces you have been part of?

Timothy Willis (02:14): M- uh, self-preservation and self-interview to, to really get into myself, meditation.

Andre Jackson (02:23): Copy. What is something you would like to carry forward with you from this class?

Timothy Willis (02:29): Meditation and, and stretching, exercise.

Andre Jackson (02:33): Is there anything you haven't shared in this class yet that you would like, would like the opportunity to share?

Timothy Willis (02:40): I would like for others to get involved because it's something positive in a negative s- in a negative situation we are in.

Andre Jackson (02:47): What would you like w- what would you like someone on the other side to know about the p- participation in this class?

Timothy Willis (02:55): That if you take it serious, it can be very helpful.

Andre Jackson (02:59): Is there anything you wrote in written survey that you would like to say more about here?

Timothy Willis (03:08): I can always say more, but I'll leave it as it is.
